One of the hardest things to do when losing weight is saying "No" in social situations. It’s a hard one because it requires you to think differently about going out and having fun.

But the more you do something, the better you get at it, and with more repetition your brain gets reprogrammed in changing the existing pathways. Its 100% doable and you can do this safely from the comfort of your own sofa with mental rehearsal.

Here’s something amazing,

“The brain doesn’t know the difference between the internal world of the mind, and how we experience the external environment.”

So, you can change your brain before an event and enable yourself to behave in alignment with your goal ahead of time.

Let me give you an example so you can understand how this works. Here’s a paragraph from Doctor Joe Dispenza’s book “Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself”

  • Research subject who mentally rehearsed one-handed piano exercises for two hours a day for five days (never touching and piano keys) demonstrated almost the same brain changes as people who physically performed the identical finger movements on a piano keyboard for the same length of time. Functional brain scans showed that all the participants activated and expanded clusters of neurons in the same specific area of the brain. In essence, the group who mentally rehearsed practicing scales and chords grew nearly the same number of brain circuits as the group who physically engaged in the activity.

Incredible, right?

But no, it’s science! And we know this from successful athletes who visualize their wins as part of their training and you can use this for weight loss too.

Visualize ahead of time going out with friends,

  • What you order?
  • What you drink?
  • How do you respond to comments?
  • How do you want to feel about what everyone else’s eating?
  • And how do you want to feel about dessert?

Then write it down if you want, in the past tense, like it already happened. When you get there it’s like you’ve done this hundreds of times before. All you have to do is choose to behave in alignment with your intention.

I still regularly visualize myself standing in front of a cake shop window looking at the colorful shelves and feeling peaceful, and whenever that happens, that’s exactly how I feel.

Remember it takes repetition but you can do this! Let me know how you put this into action. Also I’d loved to help you on your weight loss journey. [email protected] is where you can find me
